Text hash generator (SHA family)
Turn any text into its SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 or SHA-1 fingerprint — the cryptographic function developers use to verify downloads, API payloads and file integrity. All four hashes compute live as you type, using your browser's native engine. Nothing is sent anywhere; your text stays on your device.
How to use
- Type or paste your text into the input box.
- All four SHA hashes compute instantly below it.
- Pick the algorithm you need.
- Click the "Copy" button next to any hash.
- Empty the box to start over.
Why use Outilverse?
Hashes come from the browser's native Web Crypto engine — the standard implementation used by major platforms — not a JavaScript re-implementation. Fast, exact and completely private.
FAQ
Which hash should I use?
SHA-256 is the modern default. SHA-1 exists here only for legacy compatibility and should not secure anything critical.
Is there an MD5 hash?
MD5 is deprecated (broken for security purposes) and not supported natively by browsers. Use SHA-256 instead.
Can a hash be reversed?
Not feasibly. Hashes are one-way: the same text always gives the same fingerprint, but the fingerprint cannot return the text.
